Peace unto you! Warriors of the First Legion in the Heavenly Kingdom!

On the New Year’s Eve last year, the pledge we made to serve the Kingdom of God touched the heart of many, bringing us to serve Him in good faith and a simple heart! The same pledge, ever resounding has been keeping us forward! Broken is the fish, the bread, the jars, or families and lives, but God lets go of none and mends us in His way!

As the letter went out on the New Year’s Eve, I suffered an infection in the body, causing me unrest both physically and emotionally, as if there was some force holding me back from talking… But how can I keep quiet when I am about to take my last chemo-treatment soon, Jan 27!

There are 3 things that I want to tell you: the Why, the What to Learn, the What to Wait For?

When I made know of my illness, many were puzzled or even found it hard to accept as to why such a harsh thing dawned on me… In various occasions, I am company to those who suffer and I have learned how suffering is like and what it means. As I am reading the Book of Job again, I am enlightened with the new seeing: as we toil our days under the sun, there is one big spectacle above (Job 1-2). We need to look at what happen to us from multiple dimensions.

The Book of Job began in heaven – a battle between Satan who wanted to deprive God of His glory, harming His beloved children. The torch of war was lit in heaven. The fleet of angels and saints in heaven are watching this fiery trial in progress. It is precisely an event that breaks us up, at the same time exposing the complete failure of Satan. By way of tribulation, “filling up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions” (Colossians 1:24) How noble our ministry! When left alone in the scanning room, I asked, “Oh Lord! What use do I have to You when I am no longer capable of fighting Your war and gaining man for You?”

That very day, the Lord said, “….for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.” (I Corinthians 4:9b)

That very moment, I felt like so many eyes were staring from heaven, with full attention, shouting at how we perform… How true that we would be “companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus” (Revelations 1:9b)

It is not a sad thing at all. They are standing right on the center stage, in the limelight radiating from heaven!

Right before the storm, God called Job “My servant” two times. When the trials were over, God called “Job, My servant” four times. As Job lost everything on earth,  suffering the gravest pain in sickness, he ended up gaining double praises from God! At that point, I was drenched with the Holy Spirit! During the whole session of more than one hour, I was there giving thanks and praises to the Lord until the nurse said “Time’s up!”

Back home, I prayed to the Lord again for an assurance and He replied with His own words: “May Your will be done, one earth as it is in Heaven!” (Matthew 6:10b)

Jan 27 is the day when I will take the last session of chemo-therapy. Let’s talk about the What and the Why will later. In the meantime, try the dynamics of Job’s  supplication! (Job 42:10) It does wonders! It is full of power!
