Our Beloved Brothers & Sisters,

For three months now, we experience some stormy weather – Brother Sam falling ill, taking our entire family through new lessons in God. Praise the Lord!  Tears and cares of our dear fellow saints in the Lord assure us how connected we are in Him! We take this opportunity to give an update and hopefully easing you of your worries over us!

Sam is now half way complete with his 8 sessions of chemotherapy.  While there is slight gain in weight, he suffers hair loss, feeling weak, becoming forgetful. The first week after the chemotherapy is particular tough: nausea, numbness in limbs, pain all over…..and diarrhea at times! That takes us to call on the Lord more than ever! The good part is Sam is joining his father, a newly baptized in the Lord, for morning walk, enjoying father and son fellowship and greatness of nature in His creation!

Sam has to avoid crowds due to weakness in his immune system and for that reason we are suspending our home meetings, retreat from serving in ministries, which, in turn allows him to rest more. Thanks to the grace of God who watches over us, Jennifer, Shalom, Philip, are well cared for by our helper at home. It is in our prayer that God will guard our house forever with the blood of the lamb marking the doorpost – let all fear pass over and only praises remain in the house!

We hold each and every one of you close to our heart! We feel like we are in the middle of a football match, the very competent center-forward has to leave the match due to injury, the center-back has a cramp in his leg all of a sudden…. Faint not in faith! The Lord Himself is our coach, as long as we follow His directions, all team players, at all levels of experience can collaborate and win a great game!

Acts 14:22 says “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,”. We each have to complete our Book of Acts. Let’s live our life to full beauty to materialize the legend and promises in Acts! Great is the prize to those who truly fight to live in God’s favor like (Revelations 1:9) “brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus…”.

What then is our direction on what to pray for, what to watch over in the days to come! Half way complete with the chemotherapy, sign of malignancy is not detected in the whole body scan. Victory in the name of Christ! In the next 3 months, there are 4 more chemotherapy sessions. We call on our dear fellow saints to pray that while all vicious cells that are hiding or remaining will all be eradicated, the Lord also holds Sam in His fold, keeping every useful cell and organ unhurt!

Please also remember Jennifer in your prayers! No matter at work, at home as mother, wife, daughter and sisters, Jennifer is consumed and wearied. If not for your prayer support, she would not have the strength to sustain all the hardship. Please raise your holy hands to make pleas to the Lord! God will sure listen and watch over Jennifer and our kids.

Supplication, not sympathy, is the greatest gift to those who are under trial! It is your fervent intercession that keeps us in joy despite the tough blow in the storm. It is hands like those of Moses, raised while tirelessly praying that give power to the fighters at the foot of the hill!

It is our earnest prayer that you all remain healthy and in His peace! Strive to serve God the best, strive to save souls the most! Let’s all be vigilantly ready, be grateful and diligent to serve Him when days are rosy; trust and obey in fear for God when we face adversity. When ups and downs are crisscrossing in life, let’s all leave the mark of Christ in the world so that at every corner one turns, he sees Abba Father!
