Dear saints,
I am receiving my third shot of chemotherapy when writing this. In the 3 hour session, I am holding fast to the leading of the Holy Spirit. I pray that God’s will be accomplished drop by drop along the way as the drug enters my body drip by drip!
I was reading the Song of Songs when resting in sickness, the Lord grants me His words of wonder, which awe me, thrill me! I’d like to share this with you, with fear of God at heart: “Look! It is Solomon’s carriage, escorted by sixty warriors, the noblest of Israel, all of them wearing the sword, all experienced in battle, each with his sword at his side, prepared for the terrors of the night.” (Song of Songs 3:7-8)
The Song of Songs is about love, love so pure, love so true! It bears the meaning that Christ and His church are like God and man in one (refer Luke 24: 27, Eph 5:32, Rev 19:7). Having overcome all hurdles, the lovers live happily ever after! Rejoice! The noble groom sent a grand parade to receive his beloved bride!
Christ, even greater than King Solomon is fervently in love with His bride, His church, to a point of dying for her! Anxiously was He waiting for the great day of wedding soon to come! Poetically romantic was the road to receive the bride as in the Song of Songs, the Holy Spirit made a sharp turn to speak in a military tone, introducing the royal fleet of 60 escort warriors – all solemn, audacious, selfless, competent, brave and vigilant!
The bridal parade escorted the bride early in the morning, late in the night. The journeys in the ancient time were full of perils: cold blooded bandits who robbed and kidnapped, looted and murdered. The 60 warriors were imperial top notch, cream of the cream, special recruits to assist the king.
They were valiant, heroic, strong and manly. While others were indulged in the worldly joy, they guarded vigilantly, discerning the situations, disallowing force of darkness to close in.
I reckon we are His church – His bride of glory and beauty. No matter what, where and when, simply rest in His love and protection. But we are also His faithful warriors in this end time of darkness. Let us fight with the power of prayer, let us defend and protect the bride!
While resting in sickness, I have a deep understanding of one thing: whatever that does harm to fellow saints is doing harm to His bride.
60 special warriors stood in the front, no matter how dark the night, they were there to fend the threat of fiery attacks. They carried out their duty by the power of prayer, seeing to the safety of the bride up till the wedding day. All fighters who were called for this will of glory, prayed for the goodness of the church, interceded for the weak and helpless fellow members. Fully armored, equipped with swords, they “rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church” (Colossians 1:24)
Not only did they love their fellow brothers, they demonstrated their loyalty to the Lamb of God, their love for the bride!
I am due for a whole body PET scan on Oct 26 (Tuesday), whose result will be my first report card. The Lord gives me a Bible verse which I want to share with each and every warrior who cares for me and my house: “I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity (not caring for one’s face/not caring for one’s safety/persisting and insisting) he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.” (Luke 11:8)
